Spot-Margin leiht Mittel oder Coins, um einen Vermögenswert zu kaufen oder leerzuverkaufen, den man anschließend tatsächlich hält, und berechnet einen stündlichen oder täglichen Zinssatz auf den geliehenen Betrag. Derivate-Margin hinterlegt Sicherheiten für einen Kontrakt statt für einen Coin und berechnet statt Zinsen die Funding-Zahlung. In beiden Fällen laufen die Kosten weiter, gleich ob sich der Kurs zu Ihren Gunsten bewegt oder nicht — eine über einen seitwärts laufenden Markt gehaltene Position kann allein an den Haltekosten verlieren.
