Seed Phrase
Wallets & SecurityThe 12-24 word backup phrase that can restore (or steal) full access to a crypto wallet — keep it offline and private.
A seed phrase (or recovery phrase) is a sequence of usually 12 or 24 common words that a wallet generates to represent your private keys in human-readable form. It is the master backup for your wallet: anyone who has it can fully restore — or steal — every account and asset derived from it, so it should be written down offline and never stored digitally or shared with anyone, including 'support' staff. If your device is lost, damaged, or stolen, entering the seed phrase into a compatible wallet restores full access to your funds.
