Verification Tier

Regulation

Access levels a venue grants for progressively more identity evidence. A tier is not permanent, and the request usually arrives at withdrawal.

Definition

Many venues grant access in levels, each requiring more identity evidence than the last and unlocking more of the platform: an unverified or lightly verified account may be able to deposit and trade but not withdraw, or may face limits that a fully verified account does not. The documents required at each level, and what each level unlocks, are set by the venue within the rules of the jurisdictions it serves, and both change. Three things are worth knowing before the moment they matter. A tier is not a permanent entitlement — an account can be asked for further evidence at any point, and reviews are frequently triggered by activity rather than by time. The request most often arrives at withdrawal, which is when it is most disruptive. And a tier granted under one set of rules can be narrowed if the venue's obligations change or if you move.
